Licence to Alter Services

We provide a Licence to Alter service, acting for landlords and leaseholders to provide advice on and oversee alterations to flats when leaseholders wish to carry out works which, under the terms of their lease, require freeholder consent and therefore a Licence to Alter.

Flat under refurbOur services extend to reviewing the proposals, providing technical advice, recommending further specialist input that may be required and monitoring the work to ensure that the alterations meet the required standards and protect all the necessary legal interests of other parties potentially affected by any alterations.

When is an LTA required?

The most common alterations requiring freeholder consent through the Licence to Alter process are:

  • Structural alterations
  • Installing additional sanitary facilities
  • Relocation of wet areas
  • Changing windows
  • Installing hard flooring
